Today let’s learn about Ramadan, a fasting month in many Muslim countries in Asia. After the fasting month is Muslim Eid al-Fitr, commonly known as the Muslim New Year. I believe most of the Malaysian already familiarised with the Ramadan.

Why Muslims need to fast?

Fasting is a very important religious custom for Muslims, and Ramadan is basically set in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. For Muslims, Ramadan is the holiest month of the year. They believe that in addition to fulfilling religious obligations, fasting can also help exercise the body, purify the mind, and allow believers to improve their personality and restrain their desires. Muslims believe that this will bring them closer to Allah, and also experience the pain of the poor when they are hungry, and arousing kindness can help the poor.

How do Muslims Fasting?

During this fasting month, Muslims must finish eating on every morning before the sun rises.

When the fasting time is reached, they can no longer have their food. They need to abstain from eating, drinking, having sex, and abstaining from ugly behaviour and foul language. They need to fast until sunset. Of course, not every Muslims needs to fast during this fasting month, for example, pregnant women, sick patients, babies, women who are menstruating and soldiers will be excluded.

Adimis here to encourage everyone to respect the religious customs of Muslims, for example, try to avoid eating or drinking in front of Muslims. In addition, avoid telling Muslims that you want to fast with them because you want to lose weight. This is because fasting is a very holy thing for Muslims.

Adimis here to wish all the Muslims friends “ Selamat Berpuasa” and wish them a smooth and safe Ramadan.
