SJK(C) Batu 11 Cheras - Ai Hua Jiao (爱华教)Charity Event

Updated: Mar 13, 2023

SJK(C) Batu 11 Cheras, formerly known as Wencheng School, was established in 1937. At that time, it only rented a shop lot in the old town of Cheras for teaching and there were only 60 to 70 students. After continuous evolution and improvement, it finally became a slightly scale Chinese primary school today due to the increasing population of local people. Until 2022, the school has opened 72 classes with a total of 2,512 students and 124 teachers.

Sin Chew Daily and Hai-O Foundation have jointly organized the upcoming “Ai Hua Jiao” (爱华教) Charity Night on December 4, 2022 to raise RM5.5 million for the construction of the auditorium and the upgrading of the administrative building. The school has raised RM4.5 million from its original target of RM10 million. On November 13th, the first roadshow (薪火相传) was organized to promote the charity night was held and received enthusiastic responses from the public. The participants demonstrated their support by walking from the Batu 11 Cheras Basketball Court to Wen Cheng Building (文成大厦) and turned back to SJK(C) Batu 11 Cheras primary school. The whole journey was 1 km.

In order to commemorate the sages, under the leadership of Dato Ng Thean Lai, chairman of the Alumni Association and chairman of the Organising Committee of the Ai Hua Jiao (爱华教) Charity Event, they built the model of old auditorium in the 1950s in 4 days and 3 nights to let the old alumni recall the past bits and pieces. In order to recall the memories of old alumni over 70 years old, the school will hold the Alumni Reunion Day on November 27. There will also be parent-child activities on that day, such as the younger generation assisting the elder generation to wash their feet and have foot baths. Dato Ng also encouraged everyone to bring their relatives to participate and support the roadshow, in order to inherit the spirit of filial piety, respect the elderly and be grateful.

In order to assist and promote such a meaningful event, Adimis also participated in and sponsored herbal foot bath bags for the parent-child activities. This is to promote the spirit of filial piety and respect for the elderly and also promote the benefits of foot bathing. Moreover, we also provide free Timbo Drinks for the participants and let the younger generation offer a cup of healthy tea to the elders who are having their foot bath.

Last, we encourage all residents in Batu 11 Cheras, the alumni of the school and those who are interested to participate in Alumni Reunion Day to join us. The Alumni Reunion Day will be held on November 27, 2022 (Sunday) from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Let us contribute to Chinese education.
